The original is on McKinney Avenue in Uptown Dallas. With seating indoors and outdoors, spring is the perfect time to eat outside.
Location: 3301 McKinney Ave, Dallas, TX
This hip Bishop Arts diner is known for its American fare and beers not found anywhere else. While there’s limited seating in the vintage storefront, the wait is worthwhile for this incredible brunch. Everything from scrambles to pancakes to Duck Chilaquiles is served at this eccentric eatery. The beignets, however, are a particular crowd favorite. This cozy location serves food that tastes like it’s a home cooked meal.
Location: 316 W 7th St. Dallas, TX
3. The Common Table
The Common Table’s brunch menu is exactly the kind of delicious comfort food that you want on the weekends. Everything from fireball French toast sticks to poutine, cinnamon sugar doughnut holes, and pork schnitzel topped with fried eggs and jalapeno candied bacon is served at this adorable restaurant. The patio area is perfect for eating outdoors, and the menu is always a fresh mix of items. Brunch is only served here on Saturdays and Sundays from 10AM-3PM.
Location: 2917 Fairmount St. Dallas, TX
4. Henry’s Majestic
The food here can only be matched by the drinks! This is a perfect brunch taste for those who want to experience an elevated American menu of small plate offerings, such as fresh oysters, a Texas “Pho” bowl, and chacuterie from the Meat Parlour. Lunch and brunch are served until 4pm during the week, and then happy hour begins! Their dog-friendly patio includes an outdoor fireplace, pool table, TVs and al fresco dining in a relaxed atmosphere. The food is comforting without being too heavy and the specialty cocktails are simply a must!
Location: 4900 McKinney Ave Dallas, TX
Committed to using the finest quality ingredients with true Texas roots, Chef Tesar has built relationships with Texan ranchers and farmers including Heartbrand Beef and 44 Farms to ensure the best sourced meats. Unsurprisingly, this brunch menu is all about the meat. With pork belly hash, 44 Farms steak and eggs, and an Ibérico bacon BLT, the meat lover will be thoroughly satisfied after brunching here. The less carnivorous have options too, of course. These include yeast-raised waffles and poached eggs with smoked salmon and caviar. Brunch is only held from 11:15AM-2:00PM on Sundays, but it is definitely worth the week-long wait!
Location: 5300 Mockingbird Ln. Dallas, TX
6. Jonathon’s Oak Cliff
Brunch is served here on Saturdays from 8:00AM-3:00PM and on Sundays from 8:00AM-2:00PM. Diners love the Bloody Mary Bar offered by this fantastic kitschy bungalow-bound café. This wonderful brunch stands out for its low-key comfort food such as chicken and waffles or eggs benedict. Known for its outstanding brunches, this Kidd Springs eatery delivers Southern fare with pleasant service. The sprawling patio eextends the cozy dining area, but the crowd is a persistent one. It is certainly worth the wait for a table!
Location: 1111 N Beckley Ave, Dallas, TX
7. Dream Café
Though part of a small chain of relaxed eateries, this café is a great place to venture to for brunch in Dallas. Their chicken and milk are locally sourced and hormone-free, which makes the chicken and waffles all the more appealing! The Dream Café offers everything from delicious popovers with strawberry butter to healthy choices for those that are gluten, lactose, and carb conscious. The pleasant surroundings have a diner-like feel, with patios at each location and frequent live music (typically jazz) at the Uptown location.
Location: 2800 Routh St. #170 Dallas, TX
8. The Original Pancake House
While this little breakfast joint is also part of a chain, it serves signature pancakes and other American breakfast classics that are well worth the wait. Certainly the latest favorite item on the menu is the Dutch Baby. Hidden among the bevy of American pancake stacks, luscious crepe plates, and thick-stuffed omelets you will find a sweet treat that’s hard to find anywhere else. Technically a German-American delicacy, the Dutch Baby looks like a half-detonated cake bomb, but it is actually an oven baked type of pancake that fills with air, becomes a tad floppy-looking and comes out somewhat like a popover. The Original Pancake House serves theirs with a huge scoop of just-whipped cream and sides of lemon, butter and confectioners’ sugar! The Original Pancake House is a delight to visit and the food is definitely worth the wait.
Location: Village of Preston Hollow, 4343 W Northwest Hwy #375, Dallas, TX
