Whether you’re looking for a family picnic or the biggest and best fireworks you’ll see year-round, you’ve found the perfect Fourth festivities list compiled by Dallas transportation company Premier Transportation. Read on to discover what you should do with your family this Fourth of July!
June 30th – July 4th Five Days to Celebrate the Fourth at the Arboretum
Come out and enjoy the beauty of the arboretum! It’s a red, white, and bluegrass weekend at the Dallas Arboretum, where there will be five days of food, family fun, live music, crafts, and more! If you’re an active or retired armed service member with valid photo ID, you will receive free admission Friday through Monday. There are plenty of fun activities, including face painting, a petting zoo, silhouette artist, and music. In the main garden, there will be a Brats ‘N Brews special: smoked or polish bratwurst, choice of potato chips or potato salad, and your choice of beer for $12. They will also have $2 hot dogs and root beer floats for kids, so everyone can enjoy a deal on some patriotic food!
July 2nd- July 4th Concerts in the Garden: Old-Fashioned Family Fireworks Picnic
One of Fort Worth’s favorite traditions! Pack a picnic and celebrate Independence Day in true patriotic fashion with the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra (and a few thousand of your friends and neighbors). Enjoy thrilling marches, heartfelt military salutes, and the most spectacular fireworks show in town! The combination of fireworks and patriotic live music played by an orchestra is one that can't be beat, and that's what you get at the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra's annual Old-Fashioned Family Fireworks Picnic at Fort Worth Botanic Garden. Luckily, you get not one, not two, but three chances to experience the thrill, as the event takes place each night through July 4!
July 3rd- Kaboom Town!
Kaboom Town! has been rated one of the biggest and best fireworks shows in the country. This nationally-recognized fireworks show can be seen from anywhere in Addison, including the Addison Circle Park watching party. Addison Kaboom Town! is held on July 3 from 5PM-Midnight. The Addison Circle Watch Party is a free event and no ticket is required. The fireworks will be launched at dusk (approximately 9:30PM). There is plenty of food and beverage booths at the Addison Circle Park watching party, including hamburgers, hot dogs, barbecue, chicken sandwiches, cotton candy, ice cream, beer, wine, soft drinks, water and much more, or pick up food to go at one of the Addison Circle restaurants. July 3rd- July 4th Lone Star Park presents Lone Stars & Stripes Fireworks Celebration
The annual Lone Stars & Stripes Fireworks Celebration at Lone Star Park features two nights of spectacular fireworks, on July 3 and 4. Kids can enjoy the Family Fun Park featuring pony rides, a petting zoo, obstacle course, zip line, bounce houses, face painters, tattoo artists, and much more. Music lovers can enjoy live music by Vegas Stars between the races. Following the last race each night is a spectacular, 20-minute firework display choreographed to music.
July 4th- Fair Park Fourth
Celebrate America with a day of family fun in Fair Park at the City of Dallas' official Independence Day celebration! There will be all kinds of fun attractions and concession. The Texas Discovery Gardens will be open from 9AM to 7:30PM. Enjoy the gardens, butterflies, crafts and activities all day long for half-priced admission. The Children’s Aquarium at Fair Park will be open from 9AM to 7:30PM, and will charge a discounted admission of $4 per person after 4:30PM. Concession stands will be available in Cotton Bowl Plaza starting at 11AM. Food trucks will be set up in Big Tex Circle starting at 2PM. The event features free fireworks sponsored by Oncor, with the best seating in the Cotton Bowl, although the show is visible from around Fair Park. The Midway is going to be open, and Dallas Winds is performing a free concert!
July 4th- Firewheel Town Center Star Spangled Spectacular
Firewheel Town Center, in conjunction with the City of Garland, celebrates our nation’s independence with a full afternoon of family fun during Star Spangled Spectacular. Families enjoy face-painting, bounce houses, games, and Food Truck Alley. Additionally, 92.1 Hank FM Party Patrol will be onsite with games, live music, and even more fun. The event culminates with a patriotic fireworks display at 9:15PM. The cost is free and open to the community. Don’t forget your sunscreen and chairs/blankets! Parking is limited.
July 4th- Fort Worth's Fourth
Fort Worth’s Fourth is a free family event on the Trinity River at Panther Island Pavilion that includes activities such as zip lines, bounce houses, water slides, and more. There's also live music, tubing, and the biggest July Fourth fireworks show in North Texas. Aquafly flyboard shows feature riders performing tricks on what can only be described as water-fueled jetpacks. These high-flying daredevils are guaranteed to make the audience’s hearts stop with stunts only seen in the movies! With a kid zone, live music, and festival fare, there’s plenty to offer for everyone. There’s also an F-16 Flyover sponsored by Lockheed Martin at 8PM.
July 4th: July 4th Fireworks Extravaganza at Lake Grapevine
On Monday, July 4th, Grapevine celebrates in true patriotic style with the 34th Annual July 4th Fireworks Extravaganza. This 26-minute fireworks spectacular begins at 9:30 p.m. with the following designated viewing areas:
-The top floor of the Gaylord Texan parking garage
-Rockledge Park, Long Prairie Road
-Silver Lake Park
-Oak Grove Park
July 4th: Plano's All-American Fourth Fireworks Show
At Plano's annual Fourth of July celebration at Oak Point Park and Nature Preserve, you can grab a bite to eat at food trucks stationed at the nearby Collin College and enjoy music pumped out by a DJ before settling down to take in a fireworks display that rivals any of the others around the area. Make sure to bring a blanket or lawn chair to be comfortable on the grass, and then tune in to 97.5 KLAK for a simulcast of music to which the show is choreographed.
There are plenty of ways for you to celebrate the Fourth in the DFW metroplex! Wherever you decide to celebrate, consider using Dallas transportation like Premier to give you and your family a safe ride there.
